It provides us with the foundation to keep going, to keep helping, to bring hope and change to more people than ever.
The idea is simple, but the impact of your donation is huge.
And it keeps on giving throughout the year.
This year has been the most challenging in our history with a huge increase in services from us to the people we help.
In 2023, Stockport has seen the highest number of rough sleepers on record. Our food costs have doubled, and our energy bills have rocketed by a massive 400%.
The Wellspring’s figures also show that the number of people through our doors has more than doubled since 2021 with 319 new service users in 2023. This year we have professionally engaged with over 600 people with over 7000 pieces of individual support and guidance.
For some, this may have simply been with a meal, advice or practical help with sleeping bags and dry clothes. For others, this has meant accessing our professional services to help them navigate housing options or assisting them with a network of services that can guide them back to social independence.
The Wellspring provides so much more than a meal and we are so much more than a soup kitchen. Our dedicated & professional staff respond to issues surrounding housing, physical & mental health, domestic violence, substance misuse, debt, unemployment, illiteracy, and social exclusion, often in combination.
Alongside our dedicated volunteers, we are there to understand the complex and individual challenges of every service user and help them make positive changes to their lives.
